Your Vauxhall Specialist in Walsall

As a family run garage with ten years experience in Walsall, we've serviced and repaired Vauxhalls of every era, from Corsa hatchbacks that are somebody's first car through to Vivaro and Combo panel vans that are out on the road all day, every day. Vauxhall's story is a bit more complicated than most brands we work on. The badge spent decades under General Motors before Peugeot and Citroën's parent company, PSA Group, bought Vauxhall and Opel in 2017, and the brand has sat within Stellantis since the 2021 merger. In practice that means a Vauxhall built before 2018 and one built after it can be mechanically closer to a Fiat or a Peugeot than to each other. Knowing which era, which platform and which engine you're actually looking at is what separates a proper Vauxhall repair from a guess, and it's exactly the sort of thing our technicians check before a spanner comes out.

Vauxhall Servicing

We carry out full servicing to the manufacturers schedule on the entire Vauxhall range, including the Corsa, Astra, Mokka, Crossland, Grandland, and older but still very common models like the Insignia and Zafira. We also see a steady stream of Combo, Vivaro and Movano vans through the workshop, since so many local trades and haulage operators run them. Every car service is carried out to the correct interval for your engine and mileage, using the right grade of oil and genuine or manufacturer approved parts so your service history and warranty stay intact. Once the work is done we reset the service indicator and give you full documentation, and if your Vauxhall is due its annual test at the same time, we can carry out your MOT and service together in one visit. You can book your MOT online whenever suits you.

Vauxhall Repairs

Vauxhall repairs are a big part of what we do, and the fault patterns are often specific to the model and the era. On cars from the GM era, the 1.0 and 1.4 turbo petrol engines used in the Corsa D, Corsa E and Adam are known for timing chain tensioner wear that shows up as a rattle when starting from cold, and the electric power steering column on models like the Astra J, Corsa and Zafira B can develop faults that leave you without steering assistance. We've also had cars in with oil leaking from the rocker cover gasket, the oil pan gasket or the oil filter housing seal, all of which are common points of failure on the Corsa as the miles add up. On one 2013 Corsa that came in for what looked like a simple misfire, we found water pooling around a spark plug and oil contaminating the coolant reservoir, a sign of a failing head gasket rather than worn plugs, and we held off on parts the car didn't need until the customer had the full picture. For brake, clutch and suspension work, from a straightforward pad and disc swap to a full clutch replacement or suspension repair, our brake service and repair team and wider mechanic and body shop handle it in house.

Vauxhall Diagnostics

Our diagnostic equipment reads and clears fault codes across engine management, ABS, ESP and airbag systems on Vauxhalls from every era, whether that's an older electrical architecture built on GM systems or a newer one shared with Stellantis. A full diagnostic check lets us confirm what's actually wrong before we quote for anything, which matters on Vauxhalls more than most, since a symptom like a misfire, a warning light or an AC that's stopped working can trace back to several very different causes depending on the model and engine. For diesel Corsas, Astras and Insignias, DPF warning lights and regeneration failures are common as the miles build up, and our DPF cleaning service can often resolve it without needing a full filter replacement. On the air conditioning side, refrigerant leaks at pipe joints are a regular find on the Corsa, and our air conditioning repair service traces the actual leak rather than just topping up the gas, which only masks the problem for a few weeks.

Vauxhall Vans and Commercial Vehicles

A significant part of our Vauxhall work is vans. Combo, Vivaro and Movano vans carry loads all day, and that puts far more strain on brakes, suspension and calipers than the equivalent car sees. We've found that vans left standing between jobs are especially prone to calipers sticking or not releasing cleanly, which drags the pads against the disc and wears both out unevenly. On some models, including the Vivaro, the rear brake disc has the wheel bearing built into the same assembly, so replacing the disc means the whole hub has to come off as one unit rather than swapping the disc on its own, and getting that wrong can damage a component that isn't cheap to replace. If your Vauxhall van is due a service, an MOT, or is showing any signs of reduced braking performance, our commercial vehicle and truck repair team can get it seen and back on the road with minimal downtime.

Vauxhall Electric and Hybrid Models

Newer Vauxhalls including the Corsa Electric, Mokka Electric and Astra Hybrid share their underlying technology with Peugeot and Citroën's electrified range, and we're equipped and trained to work on them. That covers everything from an electric car MOT through to a full electric car service, including battery health checks, high voltage system safety checks and regenerative braking maintenance, all carried out by technicians trained specifically for working on electrified vehicles.
